PinterestLinkedInWhats Some chieftains of political parties on Friday appealed to voters in Anambra to turn out en masse to vote for candidates of their choices in the Saturday’s governorship poll. They told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in interviews in Lagos that voters who would fail to exercise their franchise should not complain of poor leadership. Chief Charles Nwodo, the National Chairman of Progressive Action Council, advised the people to avoid apathy. “We believe that the people of Anambra know that if they fail to come out to vote, they are creating chances for poor leadership.
“There is no alternative to democracy; we are appealing to IPOB to cooperate with the electoral body and allow the people to exercise their franchise,’’ Nwodo said. Aguero Taken to Hospital😱 After Fainting During Nigeria 🆚 Argentina

Sergio Aguero was taken to hospital after fainting at half-time of Argentina's friendly defeat to Nigeria in Russia on Tuesday, but he has been cleared to return to Manchester City.

Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli said the Manchester City striker "got dizzy" during the break after his tap-in doubled La Albiceleste's lead.

The Argentine Football Association wrote on Twitter that Aguero "presented symptoms of fainting and for that reason he was taken to have routine studies done as a precautionary measure."

He was released from hospital and back with the team in the hotel about two hours after the final whistle, and City said he would return to England as planned.

CBN sets clearing rules for banks The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reviewed the settlement banking arrangements for banks and merchant banks. The CBN’s Monetary, Credit, Foreign Trade and Exchange Guideline says it can only maintain a Settlement Account for a commercial bank that provides clearing collateral of not less than N15 billion worth of treasury bills. The apex bank said achieving the benchmark gives a bank the right to engage in clearing and settlements operations in the country. In a circular to all banks and the Nigeria Interbank Settlement System (NIBSS), CBN Director, Banking and Payments System Department, ‘Dipo Fatoku, said it had become imperative for the banks to extend the settlement banking arrangement to all the clearing sessions, with effect from January 1, 2018.
